NBSC Strengthens Academic Partnership with VCI Through Transformative Training Engagement
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) reaffirmed its role as a regional academic leader through a strategic partnership with Valencia Colleges (Bukidnon), Inc. (VCI) during the latterโs Onboarding and In-Service Training for Academic Year 2025โ2026 held at Kekehyu Business Hotel.
With the support of NBSC SUC President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D, CESE, this latest engagement reflects the growing collaboration between the two institutions. Earlier this year, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, NBSC Vice President for Academic Affairs, was also invited as a guest speaker at a separate VCI academic leadership forumโa clear sign of trust in NBSCโs expertise and educational innovation.
Dr. Mary Cris J. Go returned on Day 1 of the training to lead a session on Transformative Instructional Supervision. Together with Dr. Delosa, she introduced NBSCโs proprietary CASTLE 2.0 FrameworkโCreating a Culture for the Advancement of the Art and Science of Transformative Teaching and Learning. Their talk highlighted NBSCโs best practices in nurturing a collaborative, reflective, and growth-oriented teaching culture aligned with 21st-century leadership.
On Day 2, Dr. Delosa presented the 2F3C Model, which highlights five core 21st-century competencies: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity, and Character. Together with Dr. Go, she also introduced participants to progressive teaching approaches such as heutagogy, Global Citizenship Education (GCED), and the design thinking framework, particularly in the context of curriculum and lesson planning.
This sustained academic partnership between NBSC and VCI signals a shared commitment to quality education and capacity-building. It aligns strongly with NBSCโs mission to provide transformative, relevant, and inclusive instruction; its Vision of becoming a globally engaged higher education institution; and its goals of fostering academic excellence, lifelong learning, and institutional collaboration.
The impact of this collaboration extends beyond institutional borders, laying the groundwork for a community of educators equipped with contemporary strategies and values essential for shaping globally competent and locally grounded learners.
